Rockin the NEW YEAR!

So 2012 is Finally here and the world is still standing so all is well. After getting home I logged on out of boredom and began the common ritual of styling. I call this look Rocker Chic. 

Rockin' The New Year

 When I first started putting things together I had no idea of what style I was going for but some how I ended up with this look. I guess some can say I was feeling a little Amber Rose-ish in the hair department with this Hair Base from 99 Elephants. I decided to go with the fade since it's something you don't see often. I added a spiked Riciellie Leather jacket and belt. I wanted a burst of color and pattern so I added this Garden Mini Skirt by  W&Y. To taper the lower half of this look I threw on some Torn Opaque Stockings by Sheer, and these booties by Kalnins which were actually the first pair of boots I purchased when I came to the grid. Overall, this look says Sexy, Fierce, Edgy, and Daring because it takes balls to walk around with a shaved head. There were a few times people asked me to rebake my textures lol.

Crazii for Chantkare!

I went on another spree with some friends of mine and had the pleasure of running into Appolonia while shopping at one of my other favorite stores, Vive9. She was kind enough to give me these gorgeous dresses so I already knew what I had to do! Chantkare STILL continues to dish out FRESH and NEW styles with unique patterns such as this Delight Stripe and Gypsy Doo Dah dress. As most of you may know, the 70's is back in action! Tis' the season for ethnic prints, and stripes. I admire the trend of  earthly tones this season. It's not only a personal preference of mine but also I think earthly tones looks good against any skin complexion. Did I mention its oh so chic?

As soon as I slipped this Chantkare Delight Stripe Dress on, I thought of a Moroccan vacation or taking a safari ride. I love the threaded textures in the fabric and the overall shape of the dress. The earthly tones in the fabric adds warmth and comfort to your overall look. The rich colors in this dress pops. You may not even need to deck your look out in accessories! I added this adorable Kusuam Hair Accessory in Soft White also by Chantkare to add a bit of light to the face. The details of these petals definitely tops off this ethnic look. All that's left for you to do is pin up your locks,  whip out your favorite summer hand bag and some tights and your ready for the season!

 As I've stated in the post earlier ethnic prints are so in season right now and it gets no better than this Gypsy Doo Dah Dress by Chantkare. I was browsing through my contacts photo stream on my Flickr. I came across one photo stream in particular that caught my attention, It was showing designs from a brand called VACKRA. I instantly fell in love with the details, the colors, shapes, just the whole sha-bang-a-bang! I wanted to make something flirty, girlie, and still in season. Possibly something you could wear on a casual lunch date, garden party you name it. I threw on some basic accessories just to add some spark but this dress looks great by its self and most of all its a FREE group gift!

Who would have though a long dress like this could appear to be sexy? This was another one of my favorite finds from VACKRA, the Sonja Dress in Royal Blue. Blue isn't really my favorite color (green is :P) but I couldn't resist the way it looked when I put this flowly number on. It comes with an alpha layer which helps hide necessary areas for proper fitting. Its flowy, feminine and definitely a NEW trend that I'm sure we'll be seeing more of in the future.. Not in the mood for some heavy styling? Just throw on some sandals, let your down and a bracelet, I bet you'll still look like you spent hours getting ready.
